MPs put questions to the Second Church Estates Commissioner on the Bills she and the Bishop of St Albans are sponsoring to enable mothers names to be registered in equal terms alongside fathers on marriage certificates, and on attacks on religious minorities in Egypt.
The Meriden MP and Second Church Estates Commissioner met with representatives from Christian Aid to support the appeal, which aims to raise much-needed funds for people experiencing hunger and malnutrition in South Sudan.
Following the closure of the recent northbound flight path consultation at Birmingham Airport, Meriden MP, Dame Caroline Spelman, is urging local residents to have their say on the issue of aircraft noise through a new national survey.
“It’s really important to keep a step ahead of winter. I want everyone in Solihull Borough to understand what help is available for them, and for their family and friends. Being energy efficient and keeping bills under control is really important, so I’d encourage people to get in touch with their energy supplier to find out what support is on offer.”
