Meriden MP, Dame Caroline Spelman, joined local residents in Solihull town centre to pay tribute to serving members of the armed forces and, to commemorate the sacrifices of those who gave their lives to defend the UK.
A two minute silence was held outside St Alphege Church.
Poppy wreathes were laid by the MP, as well as the Mayor, the Royal British Legion, officers from West Midlands Police and the Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands.
Dame Caroline said: ‘I am pleased to have the opportunity to join members of the community and the Mayor of Solihull, Cllr Mike Robinson, to pay tribute to serving members of the Armed Forces and honour the historic sacrifices of our brave servicemen and women’.
In addition to the service in Solihull, Dame Caroline also attended the Knowle Remembrance Service on Sunday 6th November and presented the Church of St Margaret and St Mary in Castle Bromwich with a wreath.
