Second Church Estates Commissioner and MeridenMP, Dame Caroline Spelman, has championed the Open Doors “Hope for the Middle East” petition in Parliament to combat the persecution of religious minorities.
MPs put questions to the Second Church Estates Commissioner on the Bills she and the Bishop of St Albans are sponsoring to enable mothers names to be registered in equal terms alongside fathers on marriage certificates, and on attacks on religious minorities in Egypt.
The Meriden MP and Second Church Estates Commissioner met with representatives from Christian Aid to support the appeal, which aims to raise much-needed funds for people experiencing hunger and malnutrition in South Sudan.
