Local MP Caroline Spelman has welcomed news that crime has fallen once again over the last twelve months. Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorded crime across the West Midlands has fallen by 17 per cent.

Her comments come as the income tax-free personal allowance is set to increase to £10,000 this month, with typical basic rate taxpayers set to gain £705 from the increases announced so far by the UK Government.
