Caroline Spelman welcomes fairer funding for local schools in Meriden Constituency

Today the Government has announced that schools in some of the least fairly funded local areas in the country will benefit from a £390 million cash boost in the biggest step towards fairer schools funding in a decade. The schools budget in Solihull will increase by £1.5million making a real difference to children in the constituency.

Over 1500 signatures were collected by local action groups for a petition presented by local MP Caroline Spelman calling on the Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin to intervene in the trial of possible new flight paths from Birmingham airport.

Caroline helps food bank volunteers

Local MP Caroline Spelman visited the volunteers helping collect supplies for food banks at the Knowle Metro.  The volunteers do a great job in overseeing collections of food and drinks that can be supplied to food banks to help any member of the local community who has fallen into a crisis situation.

Caroline Spelman supports ‘Girls get coding’

On Tuesday 8th July, Local MP, Caroline Spelman joined two groups of primary school girls from Lady Katherine Leveson Church of England Primary School and Smith’s Wood Community Primary School, as they participated in a special event in the House of Commons to demonstrate computer coding skills.
