Caroline to coordinate HS2 Petition

Following the publication of the HS2 Hybrid Bill on Monday 25th November, local MP Caroline Spelman has offered to coordinate a petition against the Bill on behalf of affected constituents.

A hybrid bill is unusual in that it provides an opportunity for constituents to be directly involved in the legislative process, allowing affected persons to petition against it. A petition summarises objections to a hybrid bill. It outlines the specific provisions of a bill that are objected to and the way in which petitioners are directly affected by it.

Caroline Spelman says, “I am keen for this opportunity to be taken up and used to maximum effect.  If you would like to be included in this petition, and would be directly affected by HS2, please do take the time to contact me and let me know any specific points that you think should be made.”
