Caroline Spelman, MP for the Meriden Constituency is backing the Micah Challenge, a campaign to halve world poverty in the next twenty months.
Mrs Spelman said: “In 2000, 189 nations made a promise to free people from extreme poverty by 2015. We are now less than twenty months away from this deadline.
“I’m backing the Micah Challenge which represents a global coalition of Christians holding governments accountable for these promises to the poor. By doing so I’m hoping to empower Christians to speak out for justice and turn compassion into action.”
