My Plan

  • Championing our NHS, Mental Health and Social Care Services

Having recently succeeded in my campaign to retain primary care services at Solihull Hospital, I will work to secure better funding and more resources for our local NHS, Mental Health and Social Care Services in order to meet the diverse and changing needs of our population.

  • Working for a fairer schools funding formula

Having long campaigned for a fairer schools funding formula, I am pleased that the government recently consulted on a new formula which saw Solihull borough schools gain a 3% funding increase overall and that through our local efforts, I have now received assurances that no school will lose out as part of the new formula. In addition to this schools will receive a funding boost worth £1.3 billion nationally. Read more here:…

  • Protecting the Green Belt

Over the past twenty years I have worked tirelessly to protect our green belt from speculative development. If re-elected I will continue to fight to protect our precious green spaces and work to make sure that we get the right kind of housing and infrastructure in the right places.

  • Holding HS2 to account

Having succeeded in getting fairer compensation and noise mitigation measures for residents and businesses affected by the railway line, I will continue to support our communities and hold HS2 to account throughout the construction phase and beyond.

  • Keeping our streets safe

Whilst traditionally recorded crimes in the Meriden constituency have fallen by 26% since 2010, I will work closely with the local police and security services to ensure that our area is an even safer place to live and work.
